Holiday season in the Keys is a wholly unique experience! Any sort of seasonal activity from holiday photos with dolphins, Christmas celebrations, New Year’s fireworks, and plenty of theatre can be found. See a sampling of the season’s festivities below:

The Upper Keys:

New Year’s Eve Fireworks on Blackwater Sound in Key Largo on December 31st. The back bay is the setting for the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks extravaganza hosted by Sundowners, Senor Frijoles, Cactus Jacks, Gus’ Grille at the Marriott Key Largo Beach Resort and the Caribbean Club, MM 103-104. The Middle Keys:
In the Middle Keys,  KeysCaribbean Luxury Resorts and Marinas has the Village at Hawks Cay Villas on Duck Key, Indigo Reef Resort Villas & Marina and the Coral Lagoon Resort Villas & Marina vacation rentals in Marathon

Marathon, until December 22nd.  It’s not too late to get those Holiday cards out with your photo with a dolphin. All ‘Meet the Dolphin’ guests have the option to pose for holiday photos with the dolphin! Holiday themed props are available and guests are welcome to bring their own. (25$ and the cost of admission at the Dolphin Research Center.) Photographers are available ($15 for one person photo/$30.00 for two-six persons) Meet the Dolphin, with Holidays Photos, is offered several times a day on a walk-in basis at the Dolphin Research Center MM59, along the Overseas Highway, Grassy Key. The Lower Keys:

Waterfront Playhouse presents: August — Osage County in Key West from December 20th to January 14th. It’s August in Oklahoma. A father is missing, a mother is in the grip of addiction, a marriage is unraveling and lies are being exposed. You are cordially invited to one bitch of a family reunion. This raucous dark comedy transforms one family gathering into an evening filled with sex, secrets, and really inappropriate behavior. One of the most lauded plays of the decade, August: Osage County is a can’t-miss, hilarious and stinging look at the American family. Key West,  December 29th  to December 30th –
Key West Pops Orchestra presents: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat  Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s production stars Marc Crow as the boy who makes his fame and fortune with his gift for interpreting dreams; also featuring Nulita Loder as The Narrator. The concert features an all-Key West cast with the orchestra conducted by Pops maestro, Vincent Zito. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 401 Duval Street.
