Fireworks Show on Blackwater Sound
Blackwater Sound provides the perfect nighttime mirrorlike surface to make the annual fireworks display seem like a 3-D viewing experience designed to dazzle. The show is to take place on the bayfront in Key Largo at 10 p.m., July 4. The best seating can be found at Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill, Sundowners and Senior Frijoles restaurants, Caribbean Club and Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort, all located around mile marker (MM) 104 bayside. Reservations are suggested because seating is limited; contact restaurants directly.

Independence Day Celebration
In Islamorada, the village’s Independence Day Celebration is to be held from 6 to 10 p.m., at Founders Park at mile market 87 with family fun, food and fireworks. Food and drinks are to be available for purchase. On-site parking is $5 per vehicle.

Annual July 4 Parade and Picnic
Key Largo Chamber of Commerce and the Upper Keys Reporter are to host an annual July 4 parade and picnic from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The old-fashioned community event is to be held at Key Largo Community Park and includes vendors, hotdogs and beverages.
May. 28, 2018 – Sep. 3, 2018 History of Diving Museum Salutes Military with Free Admission website305-664-9737 The History of Diving Museum, will once again be participating as a Blue Star Museum. Since the programs’ inception in 2010 HDM has collaborated with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the Department of Defense, along with more than 2,000 museums across America. This unique platform offers free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel and up to five family members, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Over 1,500 individuals have benefited by visiting the History of Diving Museum alone.

REEF presents: Fish Identification Class
Website Want to improve your fish identification knowledge? Join us each month for a free fish identification class in REEF’s Interpretive Center, led by REEF volunteers Carlos and Allison Estape. For this month’s class, Carlos and Allison will be discussing Fishes of Bonaire, a location that is home to many different Tropical Western Atlantic fish species. Starts at 7 p.m. at the REEF Campus, MM 98.3 in the median.

Marathon Beach Party & Fireworks Show
For one of the Keys’ largest and longest fireworks displays, families gather for a day of activities in Marathon including a patriotic parade that begins around 10:30 a.m. and proceeds from Marathon High School on Sombrero Beach Road (MM 50 oceanside) to free-admission Sombrero Beach, where a daylong celebration features food, drink, kids’ crafts and entertainment, capped off after dark with fireworks.

Rotary Club of Key West Picnic & Annual Fireworks Show

Now in its 33th year, the 4th of July Picnic is a Key West tradition for generations of locals and visitors alike. The Rotary Club of Key West will hold the picnic at the Casa Marina Resort, 1500 Reynolds St., at 5 p.m., along with the Key West Fireworks Celebration at 9 p.m. at the Edward B. Knight Pier (White Street Pier). Live local music, the All-American Picnic, family friendly games, along with a spectacular view of the fireworks, makes the picnic the place for you! Attendees can purchase food, drinks, burgers and hot dogs to benefit the Rotary Club’s scholarship funds. Admission and VIP tickets available.

Sixth Annual Key Lime Festival
A wacky talent show, pie-eating and cooking contests and other tasty temptations await Key West visitors during the annual Key Lime Festival. Four days of culinary events for every taste are planned, including favorites from past years like the Key Lime Cocktail Sip & Stroll, and new favorites for Key Lime lovers like The Key Lime Pie Hop.

Key West Island Swim: FKCC Swim Around Key West

The officially sanctioned event (June 30) is a 12.5-mile swim clockwise around the island of Key West that is open to all age groups. Individual swimmers and relay teams can compete. The route takes swimmers through the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, ending where they began at Higgs Beach.
