The Florida Keys
Aug. 25, 2017 – Aug. 27, 2017 Special Museums and Attractions Weekend
Organized by WLRN, South Florida’s National Public Radio affiliate, in partnership with the Florida Keys tourism council, the sixth annual Florida Keys & Key West Museum and Attractions Weekend event provides free or value-added admission passes to participating museums and attractions in the island chain. The program is essentially a cultural pass for South Florida residents and visitors to discover the history of the Florida Keys by offering free- or reduced-admission incentives to experience more than 20 participating museums and attractions. Register free online, download and print your pass.
Florida Keys visitors can learn, discover, enjoy and be inspired by Everglades National Park and Dry Tortugas National Park, both accessible from the island chain. Ferries and seaplanes leaving from Key West for the Dry Tortugas will waive park entrance fees of $10 per visitor. Car entrance fee for Everglades National park is normally $20 per car. During fee-free days, the 124 national parks that charge entrance fees waive them for all visitors. The entrance fee waiver for the fee-free days does not cover amenity or user fees for things such as camping, boat launches, transportation, or special tours.
