Enjoy a special exhibit celebrating and honoring the Spiegel Grove, intentionally sunk 15 years ago off Key Largo. This exhibits highlights all who served on this great ship, missions it participated in, the efforts in preparing her for sinking and the environmental impact the artificial reef has had on the area. The exhibit is to be on display through Labor Day.

Lionfish Collecting & Handling Workshop and Dive 
Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) is to conduct a Lionfish Collecting and Handling Workshop + a free training dive for the first 15 participants to sign up. At the workshop, learn how to safely collect and handle lionfish, and in the afternoon go out as a class to practice skills on a lionfish removal dive, alongside professionals. Experienced and novice lionfish collectors are encouraged to attend. The workshop includes a background of the lionfish invasion, biology/ecology of lionfish, impacts and current research findings. Both the workshop and the dive are FREE, but workshop attendance is required to participate in the dive. Registration is required. Don’t miss out on the fun, sign up today! Tom’s Harbor Bridge Cleanup and Earth Day Celebration

Dolphin Research Center, MM 59 bayside on Grassy Key, is sponsoring a bridge cleanup for an interested volunteers who want to enjoy some time outdoors while giving back to the environment. Participants are to meet at Tom’s Harbor Bridge, mile marker 60.6, at 4:30 p.m. The cleanup will begin at the parking area on the west end of the bridge on the ocean side and last until 6 p.m. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothes, hats and shoes that can get wet or dirty and bring a bug repellent, sunscreen and a cutting tool.

The twist: the audience chooses how scenes play out. Does Oklahoma fight the demon ninja or jump the chasm? You decide. Does he take on the gunfight or go get a lap dance? You decide. Reboot!

 Florida Keys artists and sculptors are featured in this open-air exhibit at the Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden. Exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Explore a unique blend of sculptured art with Mother Nature that enhances both. The Key West Art Garden showcases local artist’s art work made mostly out of recycled materials displayed as part of nature within the beautiful grounds of the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden. Art displayed throughout the garden allows visitors to reignite their sense of exploration finding each treasure and appreciating the workmanship in the nature and art. An opening reception to meet the artists and unveiling is to be held on Wed., April 26 from 4-6 p.m. with art walk to follow.

More than 40 species of fish are targeted during these months, with divisions for men, women, junior anglers (ages 10 to 14) and Pee Wees (under 10 years old). The Key West Fishing Tournament strongly encourages the release of game fish. All participating anglers receive certificates noting their catches and qualify for a variety of prizes.

Earth-friendly recyclable awards are to be given to the top overall male and female, top masters male and female and first- and second-place runners in each age group ranging from age 9 and under to 70-plus. Additional awards await top 5k walk finishers. Starts at 8 a.m., runners can enjoy a morning race that starts and ends at McCoy Indigenous Park (at Atlantic and White streets) and runs along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. -Cuban Master Photographer Raúl Corrales Exhibit of Rare Hemingway and Cojimar Images at SALT Gallery
 Jeffrey Cardenas 305-664-4503  Cuba’s Master Photographer Raúl Corrales is best known for his profound images of the Cuban Revolution. But before the Revolution, Corrales embraced life in the tiny fishing village of Cojimar where Ernest Hemingway wrote of and fished for giant marlin. This rare portfolio of images, “Hemingway in Cuba,” will exhibit during the month of April at SALT Gallery in Key West. The work will be hosted by Saúl Corrales, son of the late photographer, and curated by the renowned critic and historian of Cuba’s photographic arts, Rafael Acosta. A special preview and reception will be held from 6pm-8pm on Saturday, April 1 at SALT Gallery’s 830 Fleming Street location.
